El Capitan and backup
I will be upgrading to El Capitan soon. I don't use Time Machine or any other backup ( I have very little on my Mac that I care about). I DO want to backup my passwords though (just in case). What is the simplest way to do that TO A THUMB drive. Can I just find the backup folder and copy? Or shoud I sync?
1Password Version: 1Password Version 5.3 (530029) Mac App Store
Extension Version: 4.4.3
OS Version: 10.10.5
Sync Type: none

The advantage of backing up the backup folder is that you would have up to 30 daily and 24 monthly backups backed up. If you use folder sync to create a backup on the thumb drive you will have only one "backup". Of course, using folder sync may ensure your thumb drive backup is more up to date if you've made very recent changes which are not yet the subject of a daily backup made automatically by 1P.

Hi @aah_03087,
Even if you use one of the sync options, you should definitely copy your 1Password backups to somewhere like a thumb drive, just in case (and especially since you don't have a backup of your Mac). To find your 1Password backups, open the main 1Password app and go to the menu option for 1Password > Preferences, then select the Backup tab and click the Show Files button. In the folder that opens, you'll see all your 1Password backup files, and you can copy those to the thumb drive.
Hopefully you're all set, but if you have more questions or need anything else, just let us know. :)
