If you actually have a KEY, that would be for 1PW3. 1PW4 and 5 use a licence FILE.
1PW4 was a paid upgrade from 1PW3 (and 1PW5 is a free upgrade from 4). So perhaps you need to pay for an upgrade.

Greetings @jamin83,
danco is correct. We used a licence key for 1Password 3 for Mac. With 1Password 4 we started from scratch and rewrote the application. With the level of work that went into the development it was decided to make it a paid upgrade over 1Password 3 and the decision was made to use a licence file rather than a key. Now a licence key can be used to purchase 1Password 5 at an upgrade price on our form Upgrades for Existing Licence Owners but if you're referring to a business licence we may need to handle that differently. I did try searching our records for the email address you're using here in the forums but it didn't return a record.
If you do have a business licence covering a number of seats and are looking to possibly upgrade to a newer version the best way for us to assist would probably be via email. If you could send your enquiry to support+licenses@agilebits.com it would ensure we can discuss your needs without asking you anything sensitive here in the public forums.
Does this help at all?

We found our shared license file and are good to go! Thank you @littlebobbytables and @danco for the help, especially the long description. Cheers!

That's great to hear @jamin83, I hope 1Password serves you as well as I suspect it has in the past
