Syn Mac and iPad

I can't sync my Mac 1password Version 3.8.2. with my iPad Version 6.0.1. I want to sync via wlan but can't even find and option icon for wlan in the preferences in the Mac. Trying to upgrade my Mac version doesn't work, It keeps telling me, that I have the latest version.

• I'm afraid wifi sync was completely re-written in 1P4 for Mac so 1P3 for Mac will not sync via wifi with 1P6 for iOS.
• The reason you're being told you have the latest version of 1P for Mac is because 1P4/1P5 is not a free upgrade. You have to pay. As you're running OS X Yosemite you can run 1P5.

You can buy 1P5 for Mac either from the Mac App Store or direct from the AgileBits store. There are two things to bear in mind:

1. If you ever want to use iCloud to sync 1P data between your Mac and iPhone you must buy 1P from the Mac App Store because the version from the AgileBits store doesn't support iCloud sync (following changes made by Apple on the launch of OS X Yosemite). Both versions support sync of 1P data by either local wifi or Dropbox.
2. Because you have owned 1P3 for Mac you will be entitled to an upgrade discount if you buy from the AgileBits store. That discount won't be available if you buy from the Mac App Store.

For what it's worth I use the the AgileBits store version of 1P5, with 1P6 for iOS on my iOS devices, and wifi sync works perfectly for me.

Please note that if you bought your 1Password 3 for Mac license from the AgileBits Store in 2013 (or later), the upgrade to 1Password 5 for Mac is free. If you need to have your license information resent, please see this knowledgebase article: I’ve lost my license. Can I look it up, or can you resend it?

If you bought your 1Password 3 license prior to 2013, 1Password 5 is a paid upgrade. As Stephen said, we do offer an upgrade discount - simply visit our Upgrade Store and enter your license code to see your upgrade discount and license options.

Or if you don't want to upgrade, you can use Dropbox sync between 1Password 3 for Mac and 1Password 6 for iOS. If you need any help to set that up (or if you have other questions), just let us know, thanks! :)
