Which syncing option - iCloud, Dropbox or Wi-fi is the most secure?

I've been using Dropbox since I purchased the product for all platforms but actually never use it when I'm working in Windows 7 so perhaps iCloud or Wi-fi would be preferable?

If you want to include Windows in your mix, iCloud is not an option, because Apple does not permit any application that they don't sell themselves from one of their app stores to have access to the CloudKit protocols that are used for syncing.

Concerning the other options, as far as security is concerned, it doesn't matter. iCloud and Dropbox are equally secure because the real security for your data resides in the strong encryption used by 1Password and the strength of your master password. If you are confident of your master password, you should feel comfortable with any of the sync options. But do be sure you have strong master password that you don't forget.

If you are nervous about a cloud solution, Wi-Fi sync does have the advantage that only you ever have access to the data.

    Greetings @jwhart,

Personally, if I need to use a mixture of Windows and Mac/iOS devices with 1Password I would only use Dropbox. The reason is why 1Password for Mac and iOS use the Agile Keychain to sync, 1Password for Windows reads and writes to it directly. So you want a sync solution that allows for any mix of these devices and doesn't care how many. As hawkmoth has pointed out, iCloud won't be an option because of Windows and Wi-Fi Sync only allows a single copy of 1Password for Mac or Windows to sync with one or more mobile devices. Wi-Fi Sync won't let you keep a Mac and Windows machine in sync and Folder Sync, the counterpart to Wi-Fi Sync, is much better suited to Mac to Mac because it is only considered a sync container and not the vault.

I don't have any security concerns in regards to Dropbox and using it will likely mean a lot less stress and frustration when syncing multiple computers. That's just my preference

Thanks for your reply. Although I purchased & installed it on the Widows 7 that I run on my iMac under Parallels for Quicken, I don't recall ever actually using the Windows version. Since I always have the Mac OS X running alongside, it's just as simple to click the 1Password icon on the top bar of OS X and copying any password directly from there. Since both replies have no concern over the security of Dropbox and it's not working just fine, I'll leave it as is. :)

That would be my choice too. Some folks don't want to user Dropbox or can't due to corporate policies, but apart from those issues I find it's both convenient and reliable. And in regard to security, your 1Password data is end-to-end encrypted, so 1Password simply doesn't depend on the sync service to protect your data. 1Password is secure by design, not by chance. be sure to let us know if you have any other questions. We're always here to help! :)
