1Password 5 on MacBook Air with OS X El Capitan refuses to sync with Dropbox.
I had 1Password with Dropbox sync running on my iMac (Mavericks), MacBook Air (Mavericks), Mac Mini (Yosemite), iPad Air 2 & iPhone 6 (both iOS9) without any issue. Yesterday I performed an El Capitan clean install on the laptop, including a re-installation of 1Password 5 and Dropbox. Dropbox syncing is working OK in both directions, but for some reason 1Password 5 discovered some old keychain file during installation, but refuses to sync with Dropbox. More precisely, after selecting Preferences, Syncing, Primary , selecting Dropbox and selecting/opening the appropriate Dropbox folder the option Continu can be selected but the process isn't. So the only way to leave Preferences is to select Quit. I hope you can help because without 1Password it's tough to re-install all my software on this laptop.
1Password Version: 5.3.2 (532001) from Web Store
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: OS X El Capitan 10.11
Sync Type: Dropbox

Hi @EdyBouma,
After you've clicked on the Choose... button and selected an Agile Keychain there actually shouldn't be a Continue button at all. It should either change the title to Create New or Merge with Existing depending on the situation. If you're seeing an enabled button titled Continue something has indeed gone wrong.
Can you try the following for me please.
- Reboot your Mac.
- Try setting up Dropbox Sync again.
- If it fails to work can you create a diagnostic report using by following this guide and email it to us at support+forum@agilebits.com along with a link to this thread.
After that what might be worth trying is a different approach. Try following our How do I start over with an empty vault? guide and when you're asked for your Master Password do you see a screen like this?
If you do the underlined part is actually clickable and will open the following menu.
You should be able to choose the correct Agile Keychain or use the Find another... menu option.
Does that allow you to finally get 1Password 5 to behave on the MacBook Air? Please do let us know how you get along.

Today I solved the problem myself after the third re-install of 1Password 5. Although I had used a - at least I thought - decent app cleanup program (CleanApp 5 from Synium Software) to de-install 1Password it did not remove a map inside ~/Library/Application Support/1Password 4 which contained an old backup file. After I removed all 1Password maps and files within ~/Library/Application Support and re-installed 1Password again it recognized the AgileKeychain file in the Dropbox folder and the installation went on perfectly. Sorry for the (too) early call.
