I paid twice for password didn't get shared properly through iCloud. We have 3 devices, cannot sync
Long story short we have multiple iCloud accounts which we are trying to change. My wife and I are recently married and we are trying to combine all our family emails to one account. We have three apple devices and we want to share 1password with all three computers. On the new laptop I I thought I was downloading from iCloud and I ended up getting charged $49.99 for the second time. I cannot sync the new laptop to our 1password on our home computer. The second laptop we just used Time Machine to get it running at full speed and it deleted all our software and any thing other then the basic computer programs... Ideally we want to have 1password synced between all three computers... please help and if I could get refunded for the second purchase that would be great. We love your product.
Kevin

Hi @mccollochs,
I'm sorry to hear you're having some trouble getting things set up on all three Macs! It sounds like there are a few issues here, so let's start with this:
...we have multiple iCloud accounts which we are trying to change. My wife and I are recently married and we are trying to combine all our family emails to one account. We have three apple devices and we want to share 1password with all three computers.
First of all, congratulations on being recently married! :)
It sounds like you want to sync your 1Password data via iCloud, and you and your wife want to share your 1Password vaults with each other. So, what I wanted to explain (although maybe you're already aware of this) is that iCloud does not let you share the data with a different iCloud account. If you want to sync the same 1Password data with your wife, you would both need to be signed into the same iCloud account on your Macs. (If that's what you meant about combining your accounts, I'm probably explaining what you already know.) Alternately, you can use Dropbox to sync/share vaults with each other.
On the new laptop I I thought I was downloading from iCloud and I ended up getting charged $49.99 for the second time.
...
...if I could get refunded for the second purchase that would be great.
1Password for Mac is available from our AgileBits Store or the Mac App Store. You didn't mention where you made your purchases, but if you want to use iCloud sync, you'll need to make sure you buy 1Password from the Mac App Store. That's because iCloud sync in 1Password uses Apple's CloudKit technology, which can currently only be used by apps sold through Apple's App Store.
Now, some customers purchase a license for 1Password from the AgileBits Store, and then accidentally make a second purchase from the Mac App Store (they are separate purchases - Apple doesn't have a way to convert an AgileBits Store license to the Mac App Store). If that's what you did, and if your AgileBits Store purchase was within the last 30 days, we can definitely refund that. I couldn't find a license in our own system when I searched for the email address from your forum account, but if you made a purchase with a different email address, you can email us at support+licenses@agilebits.com to let us know, so we can find that and process the refund.
On the other hand, since you have multiple iCloud accounts, maybe you made multiple purchases from the Mac App Store using different Apple IDs? In that case, you should be able to get a refund, but we can't process refunds ourselves for items sold on Apple's App Store. Apple maintains all control over transactions including refunds. You'll have to click the Report a Problem link on the receipt they sent you, and request the refund from them. It is also their sole discretion to grant a refund.
I cannot sync the new laptop to our 1password on our home computer. The second laptop we just used Time Machine to get it running at full speed and it deleted all our software and any thing other then the basic computer programs... Ideally we want to have 1password synced between all three computers...
Without knowing for sure about which version (AgileBits Store or Mac App Store) you bought, if the Mac App Store version was installed under different Apple IDs on the different Macs, and some other details about your setup, it's difficult to say for sure what you need to do to get the sync working. So to help us help you with that, can you please let us know the following:
- What version of Mac OS X are you running on each computer?
- What exact version of the 1Password app is installed on each Mac?
- Are you using the AgileBits Store version or the Mac App Store version of 1Password on each Mac?
- Are you trying to set up iCloud sync in 1Password on all three Macs?
- Is iCloud sync enabled in the sync settings of 1Password on all three Macs?
- Which Mac has all your latest 1Password information?
- Do you receive any error messages? If so, what do they say?
Once we know that, we should have a much better idea how to proceed. Thanks in advance! :)
