Wi-Fi Sync Between Multiple Macs and/or PCs?
Hi there, I know the issue of cloud security has been discussed to death and it ultimately comes down to being ok with having your heavily encrypted data (depending on master password of course) , on Dropbox or iCloud. I still am not fully comfortable with that; keeping site logins is one thing, but sensitive financial information is quite another.
I would like to ask whether there are any plans to enable wi-fi sync on multiple PC/Mac devices; so that each host keeps its copy locally and when you sync, the older database version gets overwritten by the host that keeps the latest version. Personally, that would make me much more at ease. Another idea, I'd be comfortable with would be to have the ability to save the database to a location of my choosing (local database server) and have the hosts download a copy from my own server.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels uncomfortable with storing the 1password database in the cloud and I'm sure Agilebits' genius programmers can offer us more options in regards to local database syncronization.
So, I guess my question is are there any thoughts for implementation of such ideas anytime soon?

Greetings @cutter,
Normally we can't discuss matters like this. We don't make promises or commit to timeframes as with the best intentions if something doesn't happen we've let you all down. So we try to focus on what the application can do right now.
That doesn't help you though. What I can say is while the idea is appealing it isn't being actively worked on right now. It isn't a small alteration either and would require effort on multiple platforms for it to work. It means I don't see a change to the local sync options in the immediate future at all as nothing is on the horizon. What I can do and have done is add your thoughts to an existing feature request to see Wi-Fi Sync changed to allow Mac to Mac or Mac to Windows.
For the moment though Folder Sync is your only option and if Windows and Mac are both involved it does mean being careful. 1Password for Windows reads and writes directly to an Agile Keychain while 1Password uses it to synchronise. This is why Dropbox makes such a fantastic solution as it handles all of the issues for us. I do state that knowing it isn't an option for you :(
I can't say what the future will bring but right now there isn't anything short-term in this area. Sorry.

Thank you @littlebobbytables for your answer. It's not what I was hoping for but on the other hand, this is a real reply and not the usual "no answer" replies you receive from other companies support staff, like they were written by a machine. Although I might choose not to continue using 1password because of the reason I stated above, I really have to say that for the time I used it, I have never had a more trouble-free experience with a software that did perfectly what it was purchased to do originally, and that for the few times I had to come here looking for advise, Agilebits staff has always been extremely helpful. Keep up the good work guys and hopefully, one day I'll get my wish for local sync to come true!

Greetings @cutter,
I'm a local Wi-Fi Sync user myself but my needs are more modest than yours and entirely within just the Apple ecosphere. It means I have a far easier time of it but still, I understand your desire, I see the value in your suggestion and I hope we can one day do better here. The last thing I would want to do though is string you along unless it can be properly backed up. It's tough, we have users that care strongly about their privacy and wish to do everything locally and others that desperately want us to support more cloud services. With more developer time I'm sure we'd love to see improvements in both areas - I'm just glad I'm not the one that has to make the tough decisions over how developer time. As for every feature that manages to gain attention so many must wait.
The key I believe is finding the solution that best works for you right now. Obviously we would love if 1Password is what works for you but if it just isn't the right fit I hope there is something that is. In our now very cloudy world though I fear people like your good self (and I) are a minority. Fingers crossed for the future
