Tried recovering my license from your site, but have not received it via email. How can I find it?

I recently formatted and reinstalled my OS, and my 1Password application is asking for my license, which I cannot find. I tried the email link via your support page on both email addresses that could be associated with my license. Let me know if you can find it for me. I am pretty sure it's associated with my Gmail account, I purchased this via the App Store I believe.

    Solved the problem. I needed to install the old 1Password version from the App Store for 1Password 5 to acknowledge my license.

    Hi @kinkadephoto,

    If you purchased 1Password for Mac from Apple's Mac App Store then you won't actually have a licence. The reason is that all purchases through Apple's stores are tied to your Apple ID and so there is no need of a licence at all. On top of that Apple don't pass on any details of you so until our Mac App Store pop by the forums with a question we don't realise at all that you're a customer.

    So the first thing we need to do is determine where you purchased 1Password for Mac from. Can you open the App Store application that is on your Mac please and switch to the Purchased tab. Do you see 1Password in that list? If you do then you purchased 1Password from the Mac App Store and you will need to download 1Password from there. If you don't see 1Password in that list I would perform a quick check to see if the purchase has been accidentally hidden and the page Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store should help there.

    If both of those don't show any evidence then the best way to proceed will be if you can email us at support+licenses@agilebits.com with a quick note explaining the situation and as much of the following information as possible please.

    • Your full name as you would have used at the time of purchase.
    • Your address as you would have used at the time of purchase.
    • Any email addresses you would like us to check.
