Is 1Password compatible with OS X 10.11 El Capitan?
Is 1Password 5 fully compatible with OS X 10.11 El Capitan?
Some data points:
-- The AgileBits Store states system requirements for 1Password for Mac are "OS X Yosemite." And in the margin of the Store, it's stated that "1Password is fully compatible with OS X Yosemite." Has that information not been updated because there's been no time to do it, or because 1Password is not yet fully compatible with El Capitan?
-- The forums have a number of discussions about issues with El Capitan, but it's not clear whether those are isolated instances or indicative of larger problems.
-- It appears the Mac App Store version of 1Password is 5.3 (530029), whereas the version that can be downloaded from AgileBits is 5.3.2. Might one version be fully compatible but not the other?
In any event, AgileBits' official guidance would be very helpful.
Thanks.

Pending a comment by AgileBits staff I, as a volunteer here, can confirm that 1P 5 is compatible with OS X 10.11. A few people have had a slightly obscure problem which is easily resolved by using a terminal command—but that seems to have affected only a very few users.
Don't be misled by the difference in version numbers between the Mac App Store version of 1P5 and the AgileBits store version of 1P5. The AgileBits store updates related only to licensing issues which affect only the AgileBits store version of 1P5.

Hello @billj,
A number of users are experiencing an issue where 1Password is still flagged by OS X with the quarantine flag. The result is OS X won't open 1Password or 1Password mini. Normally when you try to open 1Password and it's flagged OS X should ask if you really want to run this application that you downloaded from the internet which is what the quarantine flag is all about. For reasons unknown this isn't happening and instead the it's just being refused. Thankfully there is a solution to this but our application cannot do it itself as we're not allowed to run. You can read about it in this post. We are aware of a a couple of UI quirks that will need addressing but 1Password 5 does work on El Capitan as a number of our users have jumped onto it straight away. Heck, we had a number of users that jumped onto the very first dev build way back when Apple first announced El Capitan!
Stephen_C is also quite correct about the small difference between Mac App Store and AgileBits Store versions of 1Password for Mac. Versions 5.3.1 and 5.3.2 contained small improvements relating to licensing which is only applicable to our AgileBits Store version. As the Mac App Store is tied to your Apple ID there were no changes here. With the exception of iCloud Sync (Mac App Store only) the two will behave identically.
I hope that helps but should you have any follow up questions please do ask
