New install does not see iCloud sync option
Have just downloaded your application and installed it. Have purchased a license. I am running the new OS (EL Capitan) and all my other stuff is working fine. You app does not show an iCloud option on the drop down for sync (just Dropbox and folder).
Have been through all your troubleshooting to no avail.
Please help.

I'm a little confused because you've posted on the 1P for iOS forum but the 1P version number you've given is for 1P for Mac. If you care to confirm that the principal problem is with 1P for Mac I can transfer the thread to the 1P for Mac forum for you (where you'll get more help).
In any event I can answer your question. You have the AgileBits store version of 1P5 which (following restrictions introduced by Apple on the launch of OS X Yosemite) doesn't support iCloud sync (unlike the version from the Mac App Store, which does). If you bought 1P from the AgileBits store within the past 30 days (and it sounds as though you did) you can ask AgileBits for a refund to enable you to buy the Mac App Store version.
However, you may want to consider certain advantages of using Dropbox in any event:
- You can sync multiple vaults, which iCloud cannot currently do.
- Dropbox works cross-platform, which iCloud does not.
If you are eligible for a refund and do want one to enable you to buy the Mac App Store version of 1P just say so and someone will help you with that.

Sorry I am new to all this - yes I am having difficulties on the mac (where I setup my master vault) but as this won't work from the mac I can't see it or use it from any of my iOS devices either. But thanks for the advice which I may take given the cross-platform comment.

We sell 1Password for Mac both from our AgileBits Store but also in Apple's Mac App Store. What we really want is there to be no differences but as of iCloud Drive (released at the same time as iOS 8 and Yosemite) only apps and applications obtained from one of Apple's stores can access the required frameworks. What this means is there one key difference between the two versions and that is iCloud Sync.
Now you purchased 1Password for Mac very recently and we do have a 30 day refund window. If you decide that iCloud Sync is the only sync option for you we will happily refund you, freeing you to purchase 1Password for Mac from Apple's Mac App Store instead. Both versions also support Dropbox though which many people like due to its cross-platform compatibility. Right now you're in the perfect position to change your mind though so if that's what you would like to do we'll help get it all sorted at our end.
