Are backups encrypted and is all data included
When I export a backup I get a file named:
1Password 2015-10-09 11_58_42 (1 profiles, 314 items, 0 folders, 3 attachments).1p4_zip
I plan on storing this file offline without any further encryption. Is the file fully encrypted? In other words is all the data, not just the user names and passwords, encrypted? And, does it include all of my data including notes, web addresses etc? If everything is wiped out I can reinstall 1Password and get back and running with the backup files?
Thanks - this is the most valuable and useful app I own

Greetings @Hodoj,
So the backup file itself isn't encrypted, in fact if you were to change the file extension from
.1p4_zip
to.1p4.zip
you could actually extract the contents as it's merely a renamed ZIP file. What you will find is it contains a copy of theData
folder that holds your vault in the form of an encrypted SQLite database file. There may be some other files too but they will all be associated with the SQLite database file and will also be encrypted too. It is as secure as your vault as it is your vault, just a snapshot of it from a particular point in time. So anything in your vault is also in your backup as the database holds everything. So to answer your question, should you ever need to download a copy of 1Password again you can do so, restore the backup and it will all be as it was when the backup was created.I hope that reassures but please do post if you have further questions or feel I haven't answered anything in enough detail.
