1Password doesn't ask to save info when registering for Patreon

Was signing up for my first ever Patreon, filling out the info (email, passwd, etc) and click register and 1Password doesn't ask to save my new login. I don't have the URL to share because I've already passed Go and it's too late.

I've begun to second guess 1Password lately and really want to fill out the form and have the extension save the details before I hit the Go button.

I've had this happen on other sites as well, but this is the first time I've submitted the issue. Truth be told, I'd rather be able to file a ticket (and submit them more often) than fill out a forum post to get these resolved. This feels more like you'll look at it when you get the time (if you look at it) rather than it's a bug report in the system that you get to triage and deal with.

Thanks, Jim

    Greetings @soob,

Our bug tracker isn't accessible to anybody outside of the company so all bug reports have to be written up by us. In theory it helps the developers as they can yell at us about ensuring steps to reproduce are included in each report as well as all the needed information required for debugging. If somebody comes to us with any report of bad behaviour though we investigate, communicate with the user until we've pinned everything down and then ensure the devs are made aware.

We are tracking a number of bugs that relate to how we evaluate a page in terms of password saving. We fixed one recently regarding change password forms and still have to work on another relating to the use of the Password Generator - this one is ongoing as we speak.

If you want, until we've resolved these issues you can manually save a Login although creating a Login item based on the registration page may not help when it comes to filling in the actual login page. The reason is they are often very different right down to the field names and IDs as well as the login page likely requiring a small subset of the data that the registration requests. Manually saving should allow you to save on the registration page though. If you find this isn't the case do please let us know.

Thanks for the info... yes, every time I manually save a login, 1Password captures the data and I haven't found a case where I wasn't able to use that on the login page. I usually change the website URL to something generic or the specific login page though, so I can use the Open & Fill capabilities.

    Hi @soob,

I'm glad the process of manually saving a Login item has been working well for you. And I'm sorry 1Password isn't automatically prompting to save new Login items as often as it should! I apologize for the inconvenience. As littlebobbytables mentioned, our developers are working on squashing some bugs that should greatly improve this behavior.

Do you use the password generator in 1Password mini when registering a new account on websites? If so, it might help to copy/paste the generated password into the form instead of clicking the Fill button (that's one of the bugs currently being worked on).

Thanks for your patience while our developers work on solving a few of these issue! If you need anything else, please let us know.
