1Password asks for master pw but I haven't created one!
I used to have a 1Password trial and was syncing a vault with some people from a company I was freelancing for so I could access all of their tools. The trial ran out and today I decided to buy a copy of 1P from the App Store to use for myself. I deleted the old 1Password (moved from Applications to Trash) and installed again from the App Store page where I bought it.
My problem is that when I open 1P the screen asks me for a master password but I've never set up a vault for myself. Does it still think I want to use the vault I was using before even though I reinstalled? Is there some way for me to get around this and start as a totally brand new user?
EDIT
I have already tried the instructions for starting over at https://support.1password.com/starting-over/mac.html. I moved the 2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper file to my desktop, rebooted. When I started 1P again, it showed me the quick tour but then when I clicked "Ok let's get started" it just asks me for a master password.

It looks like I previously had 1Password 4 as well, so I had to remove the data for that, too, and then was able to start fresh.

I've had the same problem. I never created a master PW. Now I'm trying to sync data from Version 3.X to the newly purchased 1PW app. Help please?

Hi @dpfoff,
I'm sorry for the confusion here! If you are attempting to sync data from 1Password 3 to the new version of 1Password, the Master Password that 1Password is requesting is the password for the data that you used in 1Password 3.
If you're still having difficulty getting things set up, we'll need to start off with a bit more information:
- What is the version number of 1Password that you have installed? (Please include all relevant computers and devices)
- What is the version number of your operating system (for all computers and devices)?
- What are you using to keep things in sync?
The more detail you can provide, the more quickly we'll be able to get you sorted out! :)

Hi @dpfoff ,
Thanks for getting back to me with those details! Now, this post is in the 1Password for Mac forum, but it sounds to me like you're talking about moving data from 1Password 3 for iOS to 1Password 6 for iOS - is this correct?
Please note that we'll be able to get to the bottom of this much more quickly if you can provide a bit more information on exactly what you're seeing. You can describe the precise steps that you took, or share a screenshot of what you're seeing that doesn't make sense. (Just be sure that you're not displaying any personal or sensitive information when you take the screenshot!)
To include a screenshot in your reply, simply click the document button in the top of the comment field, and select the file you wish to share:

Hi Meagan,
Since my original issue was solved and the direction the thread has taken isn't relevant to me, is there a way for me to stop receiving notifications when posts are made here?

Hi @robobot,
I apologize for the noise! Your forum preferences can be changed here. The important option to leave enabled is "Notify me when people mention me." The AgileBits will always use the mention

feature when troubleshooting. Any other notifications can be customized to your preference. :)0
