Can we please enable 2 step authentication?

It would be great if you could implement 2 factor authentication. It would increase the security drastically.

@adizz131: This isn't possible. 1Password isn't a service and AgileBits doesn't have your data, so there's no one to authenticate you. Instead, your 1Password data is controlled only by you, and stored only where you choose. We aren't a gatekeeper, and therefore we also can't be compelled or otherwise tricked into giving up information about you we don't have. You can read more about this in our knowledgebase:

    Authentication vs. Encryption

I hope this helps. Be sure to let us know if you have any other questions! :)

This makes sense. If the data is synced and stored with Dropbox and if you've enabled 2FA on Dropbox then you should be fine... right @brenty ?

    Hi @u263a,

Yes but it's more of a two-step verification process than two factor authentication. Two factor basically means two separate authentication devices that you have that no one else has. If you have both 1Password and Dropbox on the same iPhone or on the same computer running both Dropbox and 1Password, it cannot be a true two-factor authentication.

However, it is possible we can find a way to use 1Password on a smartphone to authenticate 1Password on the computers to make it a semi-two-factor authentication, it is something we'd like to try in the future.
