Licensing / Mac only features

Hi All,

I'm looking for a new PM and since I read so much positive about 1Password I'm going to give it a shot. I'd like to find the most convenient licensing option that fits my needs. Basically I use OS X and iOS but I have to use Windows at work so I can't rely exclusively on iCloud sync I guess. My questions would be:

1. If I purchase the bundle license from the AB store is iCloud sync the only feature I'm not be able to use? Are there any other planned features which would require a purchase from the App store?
2. I guess there's no such upgrade option for the App store version as for the AB store version, so every time I'd like to upgrade I have to pay the full price. Is that correct?

Yes, the only issue with the direct purchase is that iCloud sync is not permitted, due to restrictions by Apple.

Yes, you are right on point 2.

There is no technical advantage in using iCloud sync rather than Dropbox, in fact Dropbox is slightly better. It's just that some people prefer iCloud for their own reasons (and, I suspect, that some just assume that iCloud has to be best).

Hello @LarsOlsson ,

I'm amazed how proactive all of you are :) I've managed to setup 1Password on each platform and I'm happy to say that syncing is working with Tresorit's secure file sharing as well.
