I first downloaded from agilebits.com, then today through Mac App store and now I have 2 versions on my computer... which one should I keep?

I also have 2 different login screens that seem to cancel each other out (I can't log into both at the same time).

    Hey @adjustified,

1Password 5 is the version you downloaded from us (you can verify this in the 'About' dialog in the 1Password menu). The version that's called simply 1Password is the Mac App Store version. If you got that version, then you'll have had to pay for a license, as that's how it works in the Mac App Store. Since you've already paid for it there, I'd recommend you keep that version. The only functional difference for the user between the two is that the Mac App Store version has the ability to use iCloud sync while our version does not. Our version allows you slightly faster updates (because they don't have to go through the Apple approval process) and flexibility in licensing. But, as I said, if you've already paid for the Mac App Store version, that's the one to keep.

OK, I see that now. Thanks for the quick reply. I put through a refund request on the Mac App Store version, as I was able to get educational pricing on yours.

  • @adjustified Glad to hear you've got that all worked out. :) Sorry if there was a bit of confusion. Let us know if you have any other questions!
