I have a single education licence, would like to upgrade to a multi-seat ed.licence...
HI there, I have just got into the joys of 1password, and would like to share the joy with my team of colleagues within a university. we all use dropbox pro. Can I get a 1password education upgrade to include all 4 of them, or do i need to buy a separate licence for them?
Either way I'll be in the admin of this as they are new to it, but i already have a single licence. do i need to get them to buy and register it or can i administrate it even if the seats don't include me?
And one more thing, when setting up a shared vault for work, can i do this from my single license or do they need to do it?
thanks!
1Password Version: 5.3.2
Extension Version: firefox 4.4.3
OS Version: OSX 10.10.4
Sync Type: dropbox

Hey @Bismuth!
Thanks for the questions, and welcome to AgileBits! We're glad you're enjoying 1Password. Your own license is a single-user license. These are usually individual (consumer) licenses (though it's fine if you use yours in a business/educational context). For your colleagues, however, if you are all planning to go in on a group purchase, you can use our educational store. This will give you the equivalent of a multi-seat business license, but with the educational discount in addition to the multi-user discount. Just enter in the number of seats you require, and you'll get a single price for a single license key that will be good for that many users.
Regarding "administration," there's no way currently to have one user administer another user's installation of 1Password. You can share vaults if you use Dropbox as your sync method - and there will be one user who sets up that share - but you can't administer your colleagues' 1Password installations on their own computers. For instructions on how to share a vault, see these instructions. Let us know if you have any questions!

thanks @LarsOlsson !
that is great i'll do that. I thought i had bought a single user education licence? will i need to buy another for myself or can i just set up a shared vault on my licence and share it with them when they get theirs?
if i can use mine still, can i purchase seats for them or does one of them have to do it.

Hi @Bismuth,
You can use the license you currently have; no need to buy anything additional for yourself. You can set up the shared vault on your own copy of 1Password - just make sure it's in a separate folder on your Dropbox account, unless you're comfortable with sharing ALL your data with people!
Our store is agnostic about whose card gets charged. :-) The important thing is to register it to the proper person/organization when purchasing.
