Which version should I buy?

I would like to purchase 1Password, but my computer is still running Mavericks and my wife's computer is running Yosemite. Of course, buying 1Password 5 means that I'll have the latest edition for when I do get a new MacBook and I won't have to upgrade. But buying 1Password4 means that I can use it now.

Does 4 work with Yosemite and El Capitan? Should I buy 4 now and pay to upgrade later? Any advice?

  • Hey @hotanijim! I've got some great new for you: The 1Password 4 and 5 licenses are exactly the same. It was a free upgrade. That means you can purchase 1Password 5 and use the license on your older computer with 1Password 4 as well. Additionally, licenses can be shared by up to six family members living in the same household, meaning that you and your wife can use the same license. :)

Once you purchase a license for 1Password, you can download version 4 here: https://agilebits.com/downloads#legacy_versions

Your wife can download version 5 at the top of that page. That version is compatible with Yosemite and El Capitan. Let us know if you have any questions about getting started. We'll be here to help out.
