Sync with New Version Problems
I just upgraded to 1Password 5 for Mac, but cannot get it to Sync with my iPhone (that currently has all of the 1Password Data). I have messages on both devices giving me secret codes, but the computer and iPhone don't seem to recognize each other
1Password Version: 1Password 5
Extension Version: 5.3.2
OS Version: OS X 10.10.5
Sync Type: WiFi

The first thing to try is re-booting both devices. If that doesn't work please also re-boot your router. If you still have problems please post again and someone will provide some more suggestions. However, what I have suggested usually fixes the issue (and, in my experience, does not often have to be repeated).
Just in case you need any help with the details of setting up wifi sync these extracts from the user manuals will help:
Wifi sync (Mac)
Wifi sync (iOS)

Hi @GregGahm,
You say you upgraded to 1Password 5. Can I ask, what did you upgrade from and was your iPhone previously using Wi-Fi Sync to sync to that older version?
My first hunch is you were previously running 1Password 3 for Mac and syncing to 1Password for iPhone (AKA v3). If this is the case that would explain the problem as Wi-Fi Sync changed significantly between versions 3 and 4. Can I ask, on your iOS device does it refer to one or two secrets? If it's two that would be the older 1Password 3 for iOS. To help we will need to know a bit more about your iOS device as we will need to upgrade there if possible and then we can work on getting the vault on your iOS device onto your Mac. Between Stephen_C and I though I think we've covered most of the possibilities so one way or another we'll learn something and make some progress towards getting things working for you.

I was upgrading from 1 Password 3 to 5. I heard today that the Sync from iPhone to 1P 5 would not work, that I needed to upgrade to 1 P 6. I'm feeling really good now about buying 1 P 5 yesterday without knowing today I'd have to buy a NEWER version... Not sure why this wasn't disclosed when I was asked (unsolicited online) to purchase 1 P 5. Am I assuming too much to think 1 P 6 will be able to sync with my iPhone that has 1P 3?

Hi @GregGahm,
I think there's some confusion about version numbers for the Mac and iOS versions of 1Password, and I apologize for that! I'm sure I can help to clear that up.
The latest version of 1Password for Mac is version 5. So if that's what you bought and installed, you're completely up to date on your Mac, you have the latest version there already.
The latest version of 1Password for iOS is version 6. It is a free download, and offers free basic features (optionally, you can choose to unlock the Pro Features in 1Password 6 for iOS with an in-app purchase).
Now, it sounds like you're currently using 1Password 3 for iOS on your iPhone (you can check that by opening 1Password on your iPhone and going to Settings > About). The two sync methods in 1Password 3 for iOS are Dropbox and Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, Dropbox sync no longer works in that version because, back in 2013, Dropbox shut off their legacy sync service that 1Password 3 for iOS used. Also, the Wi-Fi sync option in 1Password 3 for iOS isn't compatible with Wi-Fi sync in 1Password 4 or 5 for Mac.
As long as your iPhone is running iOS 6 or higher, you can install a newer version of 1Password (for free) on your iPhone. (1Password 6 for iOS requires iOS 9, but if your iPhone is running iOS 6, 7, or 8, let us know and we can explain how to install 1Password 4 or 5.) The newer version of 1Password for iOS will be able to import your data from 1Password 3 for iOS. The newer version will also be able to sync with 1Password 5 on your Mac via Dropbox or Wi-Fi.
I hope that helps to clear up the confusion. If you have more questions about that or need help getting that set up, please let us know - we're here for you! :)
