Did I somehow create 2 different accounts?
Hi, I've had 1password for awhile now, recently purchased full version. But it looks like there are 2 different versions, one on my mac, and one on my phone, tried syncing and I thought I was using the same version/account on both. Today I realized there are 2 different passwords, I thought I changed one awhile ago, since I've been using the thumbprint to access the app, I assumed I've had the same password.. Is there a way to tell if I am using 2 different accounts? If so how can I merge them? I hope this makes sense, I'm not exactly "tech savvy" -_-

1PW does not have 'accounts', its databases are entirely under your control and can be synced on different machines. Do your vaults (databases) look the same.
One possibility is that the change in passwords does not immediately propagate from one machine to another. When you create a new password on machine A, you have to use the old password on machine B so that it can do a sync and get the new password. And then you can continue using the old password on machine B, but you can also use the new one. As soon as you use the new one on machine B, the old one gets discarded. I would guess that using Touch ID amounts to continued use of the old password.

Hi @megzilla28,
It looks like you used your email address as your forum username, so I changed that to remove the second half of the address so it's not displayed publicly. I hope you don't mind!
As danco explained, your 1Password data is stored locally on each device. So it's entirely possible to set up 1Password on your Mac with a master password and enter some of your data, and also set up 1Password on your iPhone with a different master password and save completely different data. I'm not sure if that's what you did, but wanted to explain how that works. If you want to have the same 1Password data on both your Mac and iPhone, you'll need to set up one of the sync options, such as Dropbox or Wi-Fi sync.
As far as the master password goes: If you're syncing 1Password between your Mac and iPhone, and you change your master password from one, that change should be reflected on the other, but you'll need to follow a couple steps for that to happen (as danco also mentioned). For example, let's say you set up Dropbox sync, and then you change your master password on your Mac. In order to start using that new master password on your iPhone, you'll need to follow these steps:
- Unlock 1Password on your iPhone with the old master password.
- Allow it to fully sync.
- Once the sync is complete, go to Settings > Security > Lock Now.
- Try to unlock 1Password with the new master password.
Does that help? If you're still having trouble with any of that, just let us know - we're here for you! :)
