Hello

I have at moment:

iMac with Mac OS X 10.9.4
MBP with Mac OS X 10.9.4
iPad with iOS 8.1.2

I use 1Password for all three to synchronize via server.

It works well.

No I must remove the MBP and use a newer MPB with Mac OS X 10.10.4.

I don't find any help from your site.

In which way can I install the 1Password on my new MBP?

I have 2014 May 23 receive the bill with license for 1Password 4 for Mac.

Can I use 1Password 4 for new MBP?
In which way can I install 1Password 4?
Must I install 1Password 5 for new MBP?
I don't install 1Password from App Store for my iMac and MBP

Regards

Jochen

You don't NEED to use 1PW5 on your new MBP, but I can't see any reason not to. The same licence works for both 1PW4 and 1PW5, there isn't an upgrade fee here.

If you want to use 1PW4 still, you can download it from the Legacy section at the bottom of the downloads page.

You can use 1PW on all the Macs you own, there isn't an issue of having to deauthorise one machine to use a new one.

I believe that if you are syncing the two machines, the new one will automatically pick up the licence from the old one. If not, it is a simple process to add the licence.

I am assuming you meant what you wrote, and that you bought direct from AgileBits and not from the App Store.

    Thanks for help.
    I cannot use the licence.
The email with licence come on my iMac or old MPB via email on 23.05.2014.
On new MBP I don't have email at the moment.

You can transfer the licence file between the Macs by any method you choose: e.g., USB stick, Ethernet, etc.

    Thanks for feedback.
    I'm foul.

I see on iMac following when I open 1Password 4 and open Lizenz:
    Licence: 1Password 4 for Mac
    Name: My Name
    Gekauft: 23. May 2014

    1Password 4 for Mac isn't the licence I think?

When I open on new MBP 1 Password 5 licence I see 1 Passwort Registrierung.
When I use Lizenz hinzufügen I see a finder window.

Your 1P4 licence will also licence 1P5 (which was a free upgrade from 1P4). So once you have the 1P4 licence on your new Mac and point 1P5 to it you should be able to licence 1P5 without problem. Does that help?

    @Stephen_C
    Thanks for quick feedback.
    You answer don't help me.
    Maybe a misunderstanding?

Situation as I write in first posting:
I use 1PW on three devises. iMac, old MBP, iPad.
It works well between this three devices over Sync.

No I have a newer MBP.
The old MBP I will dispose as soon as possible because it don't run well.
Now I have install 1PW5 on newer MBP on
It works at moment as trial.
The registering today say it works as trial 27 days.
I will change the trial to a registered application.
    Maybe 1PW4 or 1PW5.

    What must I exactly do?

    Must I input a licence?
    Where is the licence?
Maybe on my iMac or old MBP?
I have only a email from Agilebits fom 23. May 2014 with this info?
At the moment I have no access email on my new MBP.

The later versions of 1P add your licence to the 1P software item entry when you add it to 1P. See this knowledge base article, which includes the following:

To help show our appreciation, 1Password has added your license file as an attachment to a Software License item for safekeeping. If you install 1Password on another Mac of yours and sync your vault, 1Password will register itself. Neat, eh?

I don't recall if 1P4 automatically added the licence file to the 1P software item but I believe it did. If you can find the licence there you can drag that attachment to the desktop and then transfer it to the new Mac in one of the ways I suggested.

It might be rather simpler to set up email on the new Mac and to apply for the licence to be re-sent to you: details are in the knowledge base article to which I've linked in this post. :)

I have set up email on my newer MBP.
I have send the licence email from 2014 to my newer MBP.
    Now 1PW5 is registered.
Later I will establish Sync on newer MBP

    Thanks

  • Hey @hansjoachim! How's everything going with 1Password 5 on your new MacBook Pro? From the looks of it, Stephen_C and danco have been able to help you immensely with the upgrade. :) If you have any other questions, please let us know!
