I have 1Password5 mac. When I try my license key from email the program wants me to upload a file?

I recently started using a new computer. I downloaded 1Password5 onto my new mac. I emailed for a new license key and received an email with a link to download and a key code. When I try to put the key code into the program under License it asks me to upload a file. I am not sure what file it wants and there is no place for me to put the key code in that I was sent. What do I need to do?

Thanks

Have you ever paid for 1PW5 or 1PW4?

1PW3 used a licence KEY, 1PW4 and 5 a licence FILE (the same file for both). 1PW4 was a paid upgrade from 1PW3, and 5 is a free upgrade from 4.

So it is possible that you only ever had a 1PW3 licence.

  • Hey @zlhunter! What danco said is correct: 1Password 4 and above have a license file, while 1Password 3 and below had a traditional license key. I just checked into the account associated with the email you used to sign up on these forums and it looks like you have a license for 1Password 3. The good news is you can upgrade at a discounted price. I just resent your license to the email you used to sign up here. Simply visit our upgrade page, input your license, and off you go! :)

Let us know how the upgrade process goes.
