My mac mini was upgraded to el capatain and will not work with 1pass.
I did a complete re-install exactly according to the instructions by performing a complete removal /delete/restart/reinstall and still no luck.
Upon launch of 1password 5, the pinwheel spins and spins, then returns by saying: "1password failed to connect to 1password mini" then in smaller letters it says, Please restart 1password, If this does not help, then contact Agile Bites support."
So here I am. HELP. I cannot afford this program to be hostage in my daily life.

Please tell us exactly what version of 1P for Mac you are using and, in particular, whether it's the Mac App Store version or the AgileBits store version.

Hey @keithtodoroff! As Stephen_C pointed out, we'll nee a bit more information to figure out what may be causing this issue. Could you please provide the version of 1Password you are running? That'll get us started on the path to diagnosing things. :)

I wish I could tell you but I don't really know. This is one additional level of information that I cannot access with out the program running. Why would they be different? I guess it doesn't matter for me. Is there a way that you can research it for me to find out if I bought it from you or the Mac App Store. I have it installed on my IPhone, iPad, and now on two pc's that don't sync with the macs 1password anyway!
Please HRELP keith. (I don't really want to have to go back to KEEPER!)

@keithtodoroff Don't worry! We'll get this solved and you won't have to go back to Keeper. :) You can actually tell us which version of the app you're running without opening it. Open Finder and head to your Applications folder. There, at the top, you'll see 1Password. If it's simply "1Password" that means it's the Mac App Store version; if it's "1Password 5" that means it's the AgileBits Store version.
If you're running the AgileBits Store version of the app, there's a quick fix for the 1Password Mini connection issue:
- Ensure you only have a single copy of 1Password on your Mac, you will want it to reside in /Applications/.
- Use the following command in a Terminal window. The command is xattr -d -r -s com.apple.quarantine /Applications/1Password\ 5.app.
If you're using the Mac App Store version, let us know and we can go from there.
