failed to connect to 1password mini and how long does support take to answer a new ticket?

I'm getting this "failed to connect to 1password mini" error with my newly purchased 1P5 (never used 1P on Mac before, i.e., it's newly downloaded from agilebits.com). Basically I'm getting the spinning beachball as soon as I launch 1P5 (i.e., nothing for me to click) and times out after a while with that error. Already tried the 1) xattr and the 2) trash-and-reinstall methods as seen on the support forum, and still getting the error.

I'm on El Capitan, and already opened a ticket with support+mac@agilebits.com 36 hours ago with the drag report attached, and got nothing other than the bot response.

Any pointers? Thanks.
