Hi, I'm so sad that I found this article only after I purchase 1Password from website and run for the first time and then I found there is no iCloud option, I realized that I met a problem...but it seems too late for me? Is there any way I can do to cancel my purchase from website and reinstall from App Store? I just wanted to purchase via PayPal, that why I use website purchase, but it's too bad I can not use iCloud, because I'm a Mac only user. So could you help me to solve the problem? Thank you!

If your direct purchase was no more than thirty days ago, you can get a refund and buy from the App Store.

You should think about whether you might prefer to keep the direct version and use Dropbox sync. It's technically slightly better than iCloud sync, and direct purchase does mean that when there is a paid upgrade you can get a discount, which is not possible through the App Store. Your decision, of course.

Thanks to danco, I'm using dropbox now, but for a special reason, dropbox can not be use freely in my country, unless I use VPN. But iCloud works well, could you supply more information about the advantage of dropbox in tech? I will consider your suggestions and choose one best way for me, thank you!

Used with 1Password Dropbox as a sync mechanism has the following advantages:

    • It works cross-platform (e.g., between Windows and OS X machines)
    • It allows sync of individual vaults (not just the primary vault—as iCloud does)

  • Hey @Newskyline! The article that Stephen_C posted is the one that I would have suggested as well. It's very useful in comparing the sync services 1Password supports. If you'd like to switch to iCloud and need a refund, please let us know and we'll get that processed for you. I was able to check your account and you definitely purchased the app from us recently. :)

Hi @penderworth,I decide to refund and install via App Store, than I can use both iCloud or Dropbox support, the only problem is can not get a discount once need upgrade, but it's a bit far from now. So what can I do for the right operation, install via App Store first or send refund email and confirm the refund first?
