This week, Apple replaced my hard drive and reinstalled El Capitan. When I tried to reinstall 1password from store, it said it did so. I cannot get it to run, It says it can't connect with mini. I have restarted my MAC. Same result. I don't see 1PW in my Applications folder (if i did, I'd try removing it and retry download). Attempting to run it again, I came the same result - cannot connect to mini.

  • Hey @rayb01! Do you have any additional copies of 1Password installed? Could you give this article a quick read to see if it helps?

Troubleshooting “1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini”

Let me know how that goes!

The root cause was a copy of the 1PW app on a Backup Drive. I was preparing to bring the backed up files onto the MAC.

From the time stamp, it appears that the 1PW Update was applied to this copy on the backup disk. No other files (of any kind) were yet in the Mac's Dropdown or Document Directories. No 1PW in the Applications Directory.

I copied the backup 1PW into the MAC's Applications Directory, disconnected the backup drive, and 1PW is now working normally.

    Thanks for the guidance.
