Difference between 1Password from Mac app store and directly from Agilebits?

I am presently traveling and do not have access to my Mac right now. I am looking to get 1Password for Mac with iCloud sync which I think is only available in the version on Mac app store. Is there any way I can download the Mac version using iTunes on Windows computer?
Also can someone clarify on the difference between directly buying 1Password for Mac from Agilebits and from the Mac app store?
What functionality does iCloud sync offer more compared to the version form Agilebits? Can I sync passwords between my iPhone and Mac with/without iCloud sync?

    The only technical difference is that the version from the App Store allows iCloud sync but the version direct from AgileBits does not.

    When there is a paid upgrade, the direct version can and will be offered at an upgrade price, whereas the App Store version will require the full price just as if one was buying for the first time.

    Both these differences are due to restrictions by Apple, and AgileBits can't do anything about them.

    If you want to have syncing through the cloud, Dropbox sync is available in all versions, and is technically as good as iCloud sync, in fact slightly better.

    It is also possible to sync Mac and iPhone via wi-fi, which means that you don't have to store any data in the cloud.

    I feel sure that you can't get hold of the Mac version from the App Store using a Windows computer.

    Also, just to elaborate on the answer to this question:

    The Mac version of 1Password is not available via iTunes. If you search for 1Password in the iTunes Store, you will only find the iOS version of 1Password. If you want to purchase the Mac App Store version of 1Password, you must do that through the Mac App Store, which is only available on Mac OS X.

    Are you also using (or planning to use) 1Password on your Windows PC? If so, please note that iCloud sync isn't available in our Windows version of 1Password. That's because iCloud sync uses Apple's CloudKit technology, which isn't currently available on Windows.
