I have a working 1password on my old computer. I had it on my old Macbook Air. You do not read this computer as using the same platform. PLEASE help me get the 1password from one computer to the next. PLEASE respond ASAP.

@stlindau I have merged the two separate threads you started to make it easier for you to find the answer to your problem. However, in order to help we really need to know the information MrC requested.
You will find the quickest way to get help is via this forum—even at the weekend. :)

Hi @stlindau,
I'm sorry you're having difficulty setting up 1Password on your new Mac! We're all real people here, and we're all very happy to help you out with that. :)
Now, to explain your exact options and give you specific steps, we'll need to know the information MrC asked you for. But I can give you some general information that might be helpful. If I understand, you need to get your 1Password data from your old Mac to your new Mac. In that case, you have multiple options, but in general I would say the easiest way to do that is usually by using Dropbox sync. (Or if you're using the Mac App Store version of 1Password 5 on both Macs, iCloud sync is another easy option.)
If you don't plan to continue using 1Password on your old Mac (i.e. you don't need to keep that data in sync between them), there are some other options for a 1-way transfer, such as copying a backup file from the old Mac to the new one.
So as I said, there are certainly some options for you, and those exact options will depend on your answers to MrC's questions. Once we know that, we'll be able to give you more specifics on all that. Thanks, and looking forward to hearing back from you! :)

I do not remember receiving instructions from Mr. C about making my Agilbits account work on all of my Mac products. I don't understand how to transfer the documentation in my 1password account on this computer to the new computer. Why wasn't the account that was on my original Air ( in the original backup) transferred to the new computer? At this time I do NOT have an Agile bits account on the new computer. Please assist me in getting access to these passwords onto 1password, on my new computer.

I have just found the original message from Mr. C. I was transferring 1password from the old (Mavericks) OS (last version before yosemite) to a newer OS (10.10.5). I believe the 1password was the most recent (version 5?). I got the original version from Agilebits and paid, on line, directly to Agile Bits. Please assist. I don't know the passwords, the version on this Mac does know my passwords and this version is NOT on my new computer.

Hi @stlindau,
Thanks for getting back to us with this information! The simplest way to get your data from one computer to another is to set up sync. You don't mention if your previous computer was set up with sync, but we can do that fairly easily.
Here's what we'll do:
- Set up Dropbox sync on your Mavericks computer.
- Wait for Dropbox sync to complete.
- Ensure that Dropbox is installed and running on your new computer as well, and that it is fully synced.
- Open 1Password and set up as an existing user.
- 1Password should detect your keychain in Dropbox and prompt you for your Master Password.
Please let me know if this helps!
