App store version - 1 or 5?
Evening.
I bought 1 password through the app store. On your site, the 1 password 5 app was $49. On the app store it was $49 as well.
I was under the impression that the app store version must be the 5 license option.
I am now getting "trial over" warnings, and for the life of me can't figure out what the deal is. Of course now, the app store only has 1 password for $29, and the Agilebits site is $29 for the five license. The app store downloaded 1 password 5, but I am also reading conflicting info on which version is available where.
I am losing trust in apple fast, so if I am stuck with the single license I'll just buy the multi use license from you guys (the app is worth that much to me).
Thanks for any help you can provide here.
Jason

Disregard this please. App store was $50 for the single license.
Going to back my stuff up and re-purchase through your site.
Thank you for such a great app. I should have read the details closer and purchased from Agilebits in the first place.
Have a great night, Jason

Hold on, you don't need to buy again if you don't want to. Your license entitles you to use the application on your computer and as many as five other family members living in the same household, not matter where you buy it. If you got it from Apple's Mac App Sore, you can do that through family sharing.

Hi @sayntzero,
Hopefully I can clarify some things to put your mind at ease. We do sell 1Password in the two locations, our AgileBits Store and Apple's Mac App Store. It's the same version in both locations, we hold off releasing a new version until we can click the publish button for the Mac App Store so it's available nearly simultaneously for everybody. There is a difference in naming though and I've never thought to ask why that is - I assume there's a good reason.
Purchasing 1Password in one location doesn't automatically confer the ability to run the 1Password available in the other. So if you purchase 1Password from the Mac App Store then you need to run that version to avoid the whole trial mode that our version has. With the Mac App Store version your purchase is tied to your Apple ID and Apple has all the things in place so that you can authenticate your purchases etc. We don't have the same infrastructure to allow this so we use the much more traditional licence system that you're probably very familiar with from pre-store times.
As hawkmoth has covered, a purchase from either location will allow you and up to five other family members to run 1Password on as many Macs as you have between you. In the Mac App Store this is covered by Apple's Family Sharing while we simply allow you to use your licence with up to five other family members.
Does this help ease any concerns? if you still have doubts or issues please do let us know, we want you happy with your 1Password purchase and we will do what we what can.

Thanks to you both. I think the issue here is ultimately buying and downloading through the app store and then downloading from the Agilebits site (as stated above). It is odd that the app store version is named "1 password" with no five. That's where I got confused.
I went ahead and bought it through Agilebits. I'd rather support the developer directly anyways. Apple issued a refund, so I am happy there.
