Compatiblity problem with OS X El Capitan

Running OS X El Capitan 10.11 on a 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 iMac w 16GB RAM.
Started 1Password 5.4 and even though the program seems to come up all I get is the rotating beach ball.
After a minute I force quit it and restart it up only to get the same thing again.
I deleted 1Password and its associated files using AppCleaner, and then reinstalled it.
Any and all attempts to start 1Password result in the same result.

Many thanks in advance for any help with this problem.
Cheers!

You can try the suggestion in this AgileBits post.

If that doesn't work when you post again please tell us whether you bought 1P5.4 from the Mac App Store or the AgileBits store.
