- What version of 1P for Mac you are using
- What OS X version you are using.

Hey @jeromeblanchon! Sorry you're having trouble with 1Password not launching properly. Could you give us a bit more info, as Stepehn_C mentioned? To troubleshoot things, we'll need to at least know the version of the app and operating system you're using.

I've installed El Capitan on my MacBook Pro (Retina 13 inch) and the version I have for 1Password is the 3.8.22

@jeromeblanchon: Indeed, 1Password 3 was created in 2009 for OS X Leopard, and it simply doesn't understand El Capitan. After updating OS X 6(?) times, 1Password itself may be due for an upgrade. ;)

OK but when I try to upgrade my 1PW, the computer tells me that i have the last version. Do I have to buy the new 1PW (version 5.4) ? the original one was free, or very cheap, this one is much more expensive…

@jeromeblanchon: Sorry for the confusion! 1Password 5 is a paid upgrade from 1Password 3, so you won't be offered that as an update. It isn't our intention to trick people into downloading something they'd need to pay for. :)
But you can use your existing license to get a discount on the upgrade through the AgileBits Store. Alternatively, if you'd like to use iCloud Sync, you could purchase 1Password from the Mac App Store for a few dollars more, since it happens to be on sale currently. I hope this helps! :)
