Disable backups

Hi,

I wonder if it's possible to disable backups and if not I'd like to know if someone can use those backups to see my saved passwords.

Thanks!

There isn't a way to disable the backups, but they are protected by the master password in use when they are created. They are every bit as secure as the data in use when you open the main application. You need to have a strong master password to protect your data,,and if you do, your backups are equally secure.

I've been hanging around the forums long enough to know that those backups have saved more than one user from losing their data completely. I'm glad, myself, that they are there, and that I don't need to think about them.

Thanks @hawkmoth ! My master password is strong enough so backups are safe. Thanks!

  • Hey @aurrutia! This question was asked very recently on the forums, and the discussion in this thread should provide some great insight on how automatic backups work and why they're worth keeping around. Additionally, hawkmoth is correct: Your data is encrypted and protected by your Master Password so you don't have to worry about the security of the backups. :) Hope that helps!
