I think we need a little more information from you in order to help. Please tell us:
- What version of 1P for Mac you are using
- What you mean when you say you want to use "someone else's" 1Password
I assume you probably want to start over with a completely new vault for your own use but before we tell you how to do that just explain a little more fully some of the background—to make sure we don't give you the wrong instructions.

Hi @kee,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble getting 1Password set up. As Stephen says, we'll need a bit more information to figure out where things are getting tangled up.
Are you trying to use your own 1Password data on someone else's computer? If you're trying to add your data to an already-existing instance of 1Password, you can check out this article on how to share vaults. If you want to set up 1Password as a new user on a computer that already has 1Password installed, you'll need to create a separate user account on that computer.
Of course, if I'm completely misunderstanding your question, please provide a bit more detail (such as the version information that Stephen requested) so we can help you work through this. :)
