Password Mini Crash

If I restart my Mac and have my external drives attached (bootable Clones from CC Cloner), a process associated with Password Mini crashes repeatedly - sorry I did not get the name of the process. It is like 1Password is loading pieces from the other backup drives. I did a search and there are multiple copies of 1Password 5 on the backups or in the Safety net. I suspect that on my drive there is some pointer that tries to start something on the other drive.

PS - When I search for 1Password Folders on all drives, there are 254 Password4 folders and 362 1Password folders.

You have run into an OS X problem, I'm afraid. The solution is to:

    • delete from your backup drive any copy of the 1Password app (only the app file); and
    • exclude the 1Password app file from future backups (because, of course, you can always re-download it if you need it).

The error message you receive should tell you the exact path to the app file on the backup drive, which will make it easier to find that file in order to delete it.

None of what I have suggested with affect your 1P data...but don't use any app cleaner tool when deleting the app file (because it will encourage you to delete other files you need to keep).

    Hi @cyanidium,

Please let me know if you have any questions after reading Stephen's reply. He's correct, the operating system can get a bit particular if you have multiple copies of 1Password anywhere on your system.

If you're still having trouble after following his suggestions, please let us know!
