Does 1Password web-edition store passwords in a different file/location than 1Password App-Store ed?
I purchased 1Password for Mac from the agilebits web store some years ago and then again from the App Store to get iCloud sync - but I am concerned that I was careless in my transition from the web-store edition to the App-store edition. Are both using the same location/file to store passwords? I am missing a crucial password and am wondering whether it is possible that I saved it in the web store edition, began using the App-store edition and the password is still in some old file used by the now deleted web store 1Password app?

Ok, so I just checked and it does appear that the App Store and web store edition use different files for password storage. I just recovered my password. I guess I should be deleting&backup the old web store edition password storage file.

@Alberonx: Indeed. Sorry for the confusion! The Mac App Store version has to store data in a container, per Apple's rules. You can find more information on the various locations where different versions of 1Password store data in this guide. Just be sure to backup your data, not delete data belonging to the version you need, and let us know if you have any other questions. Cheers! :)
