Please try the suggestion in this AgileBits post and let us know if it works to solve the problem. If not, please let us know whether you have the Mac App Store version of 1P or the AgileBits store version.

    Hi Stephen

Sorry no luck. The icon comes up on the bar, then sits there for a few minutes, starts to bob up and down then states failed to connect to 1Password mini

Sorry that didn't help. Please try this:

    1. Drag the 1P app to the trash (don't use any app cleaner tool, which is likely to try to delete files you need to keep).
    2. Empty the trash and reboot.
    3. Re-download and re-install 1P.

(Incidentally, you've still not confirmed whether you bought 1Password from the Mac App Store or the AgileBits store, which may be important for us to know.)

I have 1Password for years so cannot remember, but it is in my App Store account so I think there.

Also I tried you suggestion before I contacted you, I saw it on the forum.

    Thanks

  • Hey @Tickety_Boo,

Could you check to make sure the version of the app you're using? First, open Finder and head to your Applications. If the app is from the Mac App Store, it will be named "1Password". If it's from the AgileBits Store, it will be named "1Password 5". If you have more than one version of the app installed, remove one and this should fix the Mini issue.

If you only have one version, please note which one it is and move the app to the trash. Don't use an uninstaller app or anything like that as this will delete your data.

Now, depending on the version you have, re-download the app. For the AgileBits Store version, head to our Downloads page. For the Mac App Store version, here's how to re-download the app:

    1. Launch the App Store and make sure you're signed in with the Apple ID you used to purchase 1Password
    2. Click the Purchases tab
    3. Click the Download button beside 1Password

Once you get it installed again, please let us know if you're still experiencing the "failed to connect to Mini" issue.
