How to import passwd records from a SQLITE file into 1Password.

Hi, Fellas.
I'm using a password app, which allows backups in a cloud in SQLite format.
Now, I want to import all my records from the SQLite file to 1Password.
How to do it?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
CK

    Hi @ckaldeich ,

I have a couple of questions.

    1. What is the name of your password manager app?
    2. Do you happen to know if its export to the SQLite format is encrypted?
    3. Do you know if it can export to other formats?
  • Hey @ckaldeich! Just wanted to check in with you on this. MrC the import wiz here and he can definitely help you you get things rolling. :)

    Thank you your reply.
    1. The app is SecondBrain from Figtree.
    2. I'm not sure about the encryption. II don't thing so, but 'll find out.
    3. No, there is no export feature, only 'Backup' and 'Restore' (to/from Dropbox).

    @ckaldeich ,

I can't find any reference to this app - do you have a web link?

If it is a password manager, and its data is not encrypted, well, it isn't much of a password manager!

If there is no export, and the data is encrypted, you're likely out of luck outside of copy/paste.

    Hello Fellas,
I got the impression, that the Figtree Labs aren't working with apps anymore.
I checked http://ww1.figtreelabs.net/ and https://www.facebook.com/figtreelabs, but I couldn't find a contact, in order to get some hint how to export the SecondBrain data in another format.
Actually, SecondBrain doesn't manage passwords and related data like a password/URL/links/... management app, rather than is an app to organize notes whitin 9 (only) different subjects (defined by the user). Within a subject a new record can be defined, and passwords, links, text and so on, are entered in a text-field, labeled with a title and stored in a SQLite file, which can be stored in a Cloud.
That means, there are no specific data-entry interface with fields/attributes like 'password', 'URL', 'link', 'subject', ... to be complemented before stored in a specific record-type...
So, I got the impression, that I'll be forced to enter all data from SecondBrain into 1Paasowrd by hand...
Perhaps someone knows a export-import app, which may help me with this task...
    Thank you for your support.
    Regards, C. Kaldeich

    Hi @ckaldeich ,

If the data is not encrypted, you can get the SQL table dumps pretty easily, and convert that into CSV, whereby you can import it into 1Password. There might be GUI tools to dump the raw data, but I don't know of them. I use sqlite3, a command line tool, available in the MacPorts collection (and other open source collections).

If you aren't familiar with any of this, the process of setting up the environment, dumping the SQL tables, formatting the data into CSV might be much more work than manually creating new records.

Ask if you need more help...
