Why do I have so many folders "1password x.agilekeychain x.folder" in my Icloud Drive??

  • Hey @Dangoy,

It sounds like you might be using Folder Sync to keep an Agile Keychain in your iCloud Drive. This isn't necessary, because 1Password uses CloudKit to sync with iCloud. If you're syncing to iCloud, no 1Password information will appear in your iCloud Drive. Could you please confirm what sync method are you currently using? That'll help us understand whether there's duplicate data in the Agile Keychain or not.

You can check your sync method in 1Password by going to Preferences ( ⌘ , ) > Sync and selecting a vault. In the pane to the right, a sync method may be selected. Let us know what that is so we can figure things out. :)

    Hi,

Thanks for uor reply. The sync method is the one showed hereafter. Sorry for the lenguage (I'm french).

"Ce Mac est configuré pour exécuter un Serveur Wi-Fi de 1Password qui inclut la synchronisation de ce coffre vers des appareils iOS. Vous pouvez changer cela dans les Préférences du Serveur Wi-Fi .

Egalement synchronisez le coffre PRINCIPAL avec : aucun"

Hope this will help you .

  • @Dangoy So, just to confirm: You aren't using iCloud for syncing at all? In that case, you can remove the Agile Keychain file. Please be sure you're not using it for anything. You can right-click it and select Get Info to see when it was last modified. If the date is a while ago, feel free to simply move the Agile Keychain that's in your iCloud Drive to the trash and continue using WiFi Sync as usual. Let us know how that goes!

    Hi Penderworth,

Thanks again for your help. I have erased all the files that were kept in my Icloud drive. Looking closer to the inputs of my 1Password application I noticed that the Wifi sync has always be the method of sync, that's why I don't understand why they are inputs from 1PW on my Icloud drive. The last files were produced on october 22th.
    Regards

  • @Dangoy That is indeed quite strange. Did you check to make sure everything is still working fine in 1Password on your Mac after removing the Agile Keychain from your iCloud Drive? It's very weird that it showed up there in the first place — do you remember adding it?

    Hi again,
Everything seems to work fine wit 1PW after deletion of folders and files in Icloud drive. Could it be possible that in version 4 of your product, Icloud drive was an option available ??

    Glad to hear it. :)

1Password has never stored its data in iCloud Drive because Apple doesn't recommend it be used for databases. Rather, they recommend the CloudKit architecture, which is what 1Password uses. For more information on how this wizardry works, check out this knowledge base article. Let us know if you have any other questions!
