I have not been able to use 1Password for over 2 years. I want to use it now.
I cannot get 1Password to work-at all. I had downloaded it 2 years ago but never used it. Now I have forgotten my password, so I downloaded it onto my iPad, but it did not show up via cloud on my MacAir. So I checked my Cloud, and it was okay, so I downloaded it again onto my Mac. Then I made up a new Vault Password, and started to use the new 1Password. It would not let me move forward to manage , and it suggested I not merge. This makes sense, since I had not added much into the original 2 year old program. But it would not let me move forward, so I tried to merge, but of course I could not as I had no original Password. Help me, please. I want to start using this. Of course, my option is to erase it and purchase a different Password Manager, but I have already paid for this and it gets the best reviews.

In order to use iCloud to sync your 1Password data you must use the version of 1Password from the Mac App Store (following changes introduced by Apple on the launch of OS X Yosemite, which prevented non-App Store apps from using iCloud).
It's easy to change from the AgileBits store version to the Mac App Store version once you've bought from the Mac App Store:

@tingfuluen: Indeed, you can buy the Mac App Store version, Trash the AgileBits Store version, and the Mac App Store version will load your existing vault when you launch it. I hope this helps! :)
