how can i keep duplicate items on import

(I suspect this one is for @MrC)

During import I receive warning about duplicate items.

In fact these are duplicate desriptions, but different username, passwords - so are actually separate entries.

Is there a workaround or setting to accept and import these "duplicates"

    @fowlesp,

    I'm here, I'm here!

    1Password for Windows will ask you what you want to do when you import. It will ask if you want to import the items, and I always say Yes to All, and then it will compare the Titles, and ask if you want to Replace entries where the new entries that match titles, for which I always say No to All.

    I personally don't see any value in the latter dialog, since there isn't enough context to make a useful or informed decision (you can't see both items for comparison, for example).

  • Hi @fowlesp,

    MrC is correct. We did make some changes for the second dialog, it shouldn't come up if the item types are different. However, the first dialog to import items should be yes to all and if you see the second dialog about duplicate titles, say no.

    We have plans to simplify the whole process in the future.
