Wi-Fi Server to Windows 10, iOS, and Android

Hello,

I was hoping to move away from using cloud syncing, to be honest this to me is a temporary work around using DropBox (which I hate and only have because of 1Password, else I would close my account).

I am a OS X, Windows 10, iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile 10 user (YES... I use all them almost daily) because of my job I have to use all the devices.

Lately I have become a bit annoyed with Agilebits because of such a difference in development cycles and features across the products. Android doesn't support opvault, OneDrive support for Windows, but not OS X. etc. I understand this is complicated, but a roadmap thread would be really good to give everyone a heads up on when feature is available on which platforms. Maybe some type of table? Possible some footnote number saying when a feature is in dev, beta, etc.

To be honest I thought about just moving over to Wi-Fi sync, but there is no way for OS X to act as my server and my Windows 10 to act as a client.

I hope in the future you can set this type of configuration where Windows or OS X can be a server and client for one another. I would prefer to use Wi-Fi sync for everything someday. This is one reason I moved away from LastPass**** a few years ago their cloud stuff, prefer local.

@vashachiroku: You're right! As our 'youngest' app, 1Password for Android doesn't yet have full OPVault support, but this is a feature we'll be adding going forward. Similarly, 1Password for Windows Modern — currently in alpha — has OneDrive support. If all goes well, it will have served as a great testbed for the service with 1Password data, and then we can determine if it's a good fit to roll out on other platforms as well. That's the closest you'll get to a 'roadmap' though, since we don't discuss release dates or go into detail about unreleased features.

I know these are important to you. Of course, that's why you're here providing this feedback! However, I suspect that reliability is important to you as well. Sometimes it's easy to take for granted, and frankly it's our job to make it that way. But what that means is that we're not going to rush features out — especially ones so fundamental and critical to your data as vault format and syncing.

Indeed, we'd very much like to make local syncing more flexible. Unfortunately I can't say for certain if or when we might be able to do so. We're a small team, and we have a lot of other things to work on first (such as the aforementioned features). But regardless, customer feedback is a big part of how we determine what we're going to work on next. Thanks for bringing this up! :)
