Implementation of Alphanumeric index

I believe it has been a while since this has been brought up. Like many others my login database has grown to several hundred entries. Simple scrolling alone is tedious. An alpha/numeric index ala iOS would be extremely useful.
Apparently this has;t been done in past because its not a core OS X feature. To me that is a deficiency on part of Apple. Many places such as contacts where it would be very useful.
Simple typing in a letter into search field doesn't work as it doesn't default to first letter in an entry

@waldhaus1: Thanks for bringing this up! As you rightly point out, we're all generally getting more items in our vaults, not less. I can't say that we will add this feature specifically (the alphabetical index), but it's certainly one option we'll consider as we improve 1Password going forward.

May I ask though, is the search feature deficient in some way? I rarely find myself scrolling through my vault, even on iOS where there is an index. Maybe some additional insight into how you use 1Password will help us make it even better. Thanks in advance! :)

The search feature works fine, but it means letting go of the mouse or trackpad and then typing several letters and then back to the trackpad or mouse. Quicker would be click on a letter of the alphabet and then brief scroll to the item of interest.

Thanks for clarifying! It sounds like you'd prefer to use the mouse exclusively. That makes sense. we'll see if we can add this feature in the future. Cheers! :)
