Multiple Users, Computers, and Devices - Same Household
I'm new. Our household has three Macs each with two users, two single user iPads, two single user iPhones, and one Apple Watch. I've purchased one license maybe twice now... once in September for $49.99 and again yesterday for $29.99 after a notice that my trial period was over.
Question One: Did erroneously I pay twice?
Question Two: I and am now prompted on other computers to pay again. Do I need to?
Question Three: Do I need to purchase multiple copies of the software to make all the computers, users, and devices within a single household work together with one set of passwords.
Question Four: If I can make them all work together, when a password is changed on one device will it automatically update on all the other devices, users, etc.?
Help appreciated?

Hey @GNMix! Welcome to the password party. We try to keep things on the up and up here. ;)
I've purchased one license maybe twice now... once in September for $49.99 and again yesterday for $29.99 after a notice that my trial period was over.
Question One: Did erroneously I pay twice? If you already purchased the app in September, you did not need to purchase again. All you needed to do was add your existing license to your other computers' copies of 1Password. I looked up the email address you used to sign up here on the forums and was only able to find the license you purchased on the 25th of this month. Did you use a different email address to purchase the app in September? Or did you possibly purchase it on the Mac App Store rather than the AgileBits Store? You can find out which version you're using by quickly following the steps here. In short: if you were using iCloud sync on your Mac at any point, you have a copy of the Mac App Store version.
The good news is, if you can find your copy of 1Password from September, we'd be happy to issue you a refund for the purchase you made on 25 October since it was a duplicate. Just make sure you do indeed have another license so we don't leave you without one. :+1:

Question Three: Do I need to purchase multiple copies of the software to make all the computers, users, and devices within a single household work together with one set of passwords. One license of 1Password is valid for up to six members in the same household, which should cover your case quite well. :) All you need to do is add that license to the computer, or download the app again from the Mac App Store if you purchased there.
Question Four: If I can make them all work together, when a password is changed on one device will it automatically update on all the other devices, users, etc.?
You can definitely make them work together, and you can make any changes across the devices show up on the others by syncing them. There are several solutions for syncing: Dropbox, iCloud, WiFi, and Folder Sync on Mac only. To find out what the best solution is for your case, I recommend this article:
Sync options compared: Dropbox vs. iCloud vs. Wi-Fi
If you decide to go with iCloud, you'll need a copy of 1Password from the Mac App Store. If you didn't already purchase the app there, we may be able to refund your purchase from September if it was within our 30-day policy. If it wasn't, you can purchase a Mac App Store copy if you'd like, or simply stick with Dropbox or WiFi. It all depends on what service you're comfortable with and whether you want to use things on Windows at one point.
Hopefully that covers everything. If you have any other questions, we're here to help out! :)

Yes, I did buy 2 licenses and got two license numbers. Both licenses were purchased from Agile Web Store. I have the receipts and license numbers from both purchases. They were both purchased using the same email address, however it is a different address from the one associated with my Forum registration. The original purchase was on 9/25 which I'm sure is what triggered the notices beginning on 10/25 telling me my free trial period was over and to purchase. I did purchase again on 10/25 for fear of losing all the passwords and other information I had previously saved within 1Password.
Because our household is 100% Apple and we have no plans to change to the Windows environment ever, I think it is best for us to sync through the iCloud. To do that, from your comments I understand I'm going to have to download the app from the App Store onto each of the three computers I have and activate them using one license number. Can I retain that original license number or will I get a new one associated with the Apple version? If different or not, can I transfer the encrypted files with all of my data from the Agile version to the App Store version? Is it possible to do all of that without paying for the software again through the App Store or, to get a refund for the other purchases?
I'll be happy to send you copies of the receipts and license numbers. But since I believe this forum thread is visible to the public I don't want to post information you may need here. Can I communicate with you directly to do so?
Thank you.

@GNMix Thanks for getting back to me.

Sorry for the confusion on this part. The App Store does not use our licenses — it's a separate system. That's why I was talking about a refund for the license you purchased in September. It'd be best if we continued this conversation via email since this is indeed a public forum and I'll need your other email address to look things up in our system. Could you send us an email at support+forums@agilebits.com with a link to this thread and the email you purchased the app with in September? Also post back here with the BitBot number you receive so we can link this thread and your email together.
Thanks! :)

Thank you very much for addressing my issue so promptly and to my complete satisfaction. I have one remaining question that I've hunted for an answer to but am still unclear about. I've successfully downloaded the App Store version onto our primary computer and also onto some of our devices. I was about to load the App Store version onto our other two computers, but in order to do so it appears I must click on the Green Buy Now $49.99 button. I haven't done so for fear of being instantly charged. So, will clicking on it give me the option to download it onto our other computers without charge or is there something else I need to do? All three computers use the same App Store Apple ID.

@GNMix No problem at all! I hope your weekend is going well. :)

Once you purchase it on one of your computers, all you have to do is sign in to the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID on the others and you'll be set to download the app again. You can go to the Purchases tab of the App Store and find 1Password, then click Install to put it on that computer. There's not really a limit on Mac App Store purchases, so you as long as you sign in with your Apple ID there's no need to worry about having too many devices. Let me know how things go!
