Naming of new items
For a power user tool I've never understood why 1Password insists on making new entries based on the (more newb friendly) site name (like Amazon) rather than the more clear/useful/correct/precise domain name (like amazon.com). Would you consider adding a toggle to adjust this behavior in Advanced Settings? It would be even better if you had a field for a regex to transform the URL or domain into the desired string.

I'm just a user like you commenting on your suggestion. Your example of "Amazon" vs. "amazon.com" inherently suggests how naming is subjective. Amazon itself uses the "newb friendly" name of Amazon on its own site, despite its corporate name being Amazon.com, Inc.
If you're going to enter a regular expression, then it would be less Rube Goldbergian to just enter your desired Title in the first place. And no RE can programmatically title-case complex names such as restorationhardware.

Hi @RyanArr,
I hope MrC's explanation was helpful for you! I also wanted to mention that when the 1Password extension prompts you to save a new Login, the name it shows is merely a suggestion - you can change it to whatever you'd like before saving it in your vault. If you've already saved a Login item but want to change the name, you can edit that from the main 1Password app, or from 1Password mini.
If you need anything else, please let us know - we're always glad to help! :)

Yep, I know I can change it. Just didn't much care for the default, and manually changing it every time I add a site was getting old. It's a philosophical debate, there isn't really a right answer. I'd prefer the domain as the title because it's something resembling a primary key, whereas a company name or site name isn't (i.e. multiple subdomains may have different credentials, also same second level name may exist under multiple tld's).

@RyanArr: Ah, that makes sense! While it obviously depends on the site, I tend to prefer the 'newb method' myself, since I have many Logins which are used across multiple TLDs. But ultimately it's a matter of what works best for each of us. We can certainly reevaluate this as we develop 1Password going forward. Cheers! :)
