Chrome extension only shows "Connecting 1, 2, 3...121..." for new PC Chrome log-in

I've just received a new computer at work and signed into Chrome using my Google account. This loaded all of my settings including the 1Password extension. However, whenever I try to log-in to the 1Password extension, it just shows "Connecting 1, 2, 3..." all the way up to 121 (and even further?) after typing in my password. However, if I click elsewhere on the browser, this "connecting" message disappears and then nothing happens. Any idea what the issue may be? Do I need to also download the desktop program?

I guess the 1Password extension was trying to connecting your desktop version. I also guess, 1Password won't store your passwords in google's account or inside the extension itself, the extension need connect your desktop version and read the password (probably encrypted) from it so you can try install your desktop version to solve this problem. This is not an official answer from agilebits, just try to help you solve this problem a bit quicker. :)

  • @beantowndee - You are using an older version of the 1Password extension and you don't specify what version of 1Password you are using. I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your Windows PC:

    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/win.html

Attach the Diagnostics Report to an email message addressed to support+windows@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!
