Opera extension doesnt work

I am trying to use the 1Password extension with Opera (version 32.0).

When I click on the toolbar bar button it says "Unknown Protocol -- Opera was unable to open the link since no application associated with 'onepassword4-extension:' protocol was found on your system."

It also says the "Looking for the 1Password Helper. The 1Password Helper must be running for the extension to work properly". I tried restarting and troubleshooting the helper, but it didnt change it.

I appreciate the help. I need to use Opera, because Chrome runs way too slowly on my work machine. Thanks.

  • Hi @rs1,

You're using an outdated version of 1Password that didn't support Opera, the Chrome/Opera extension is for 1Password 4 for Windows only.

If you'd like to upgrade, here's the link to our upgrade store: https://agilebits.com/store/upgrade

Enter your license key and it will offer you the upgrade price on 1Password 4 for Windows.

Thanks - I upgraded and I am able to use the extension.

I did have an issue using it with Citibank, one of the sites I access most frequently. Can you see if that should be compatible with Opera and this extension? I appreciate it.

    Hi @rs1,

Can you give me more details on what the issue is? Citibank has been problematic for our filling as they do weird things to their login forms.

Also, which URL are you using to login?

Nothing fills in at all. In Chrome, the Password field would at least fill in, and then when I put the cursor in the Username field it would then automatically fill in without my having to type anything.

    Url is: https://online.citi.com/US/JPS/portal/Index.do

    Thanks.

@rs1: Ah yes — Citibank: The Eternal Struggle. :(

It seems as if every time we improve 1Password to get it filling across all of their various login pages, they change something again. Believe me, as a Citi customer myself I feel your pain! They're doing some 'interesting' things with Javascript. Currently the best login form to use is this one:

    https://www.accountonline.citibank.com/cards/svc/LoginGet.do

I just double-checked it in Opera in case they'd changed something again, and it works. I hope this helps! :)
