Can I share the file with my husband on Version 3 if I have version 5?

We both Have MacBook Pros - my husband is on OSX 10.6. and I was already on 10.10 when my Mac died. We installed Version 3 in 2014 and sync through Dropbox. 1Password was working fine in spite of me upgrading to Yosemite. I have a new computer with OSX 10.10.5 and the extension no longer autofills. I am reluctant to upgrade to Version 5 in case we can no longer sync (My husband will not upgrade his OS).
Your advice will be much appreciated.

1Password Version: 3.8.22
Extension Version: 3.9.21.90
OS Version: 10.8.6 and 10.10.5
Sync Type: Dropbox

    @Celia2015: In a word: yes.

    But there is one not-insignificant caveat: you should not make changes using 1Password 3. Since 1Password 3 does not about the newer features of 1Password 4 and up, it will not be able to read or write some information you may save in newer versions of the app. In these cases, it will appear to be 'missing'. It's still there, but it can be a bit of a hassle to deal with that. So simply limiting yourselves to making changes to the vault with 1Password 5 will avoid this completely. I hope this helps! :)

    @Celia2015 On behalf of brenty, you are very welcome! But you might want to tell your husband that staying current with Mac OS's are a VERY good idea for security reasons.
