AgileBits staff monitor the forums all the time, respond to every post, but answer from oldest post to newest, so follow-ups by you only delay replies. With many posts to answer, it may take some time for them to answer, but I and other experienced users can try to answer.
I would be inclined to start with the Mac desktop, and when that is working satisfactorily follow up with adding the android devices. On the Mac, one thing that catches people out is that you first get a welcome screen and this has a button saying "awesome. let's get started." Click that and follow the procedure.
Age has nothing to do with the issue, it's liking tech that helps and I do know that many people just find tech difficult. I say this being conscious that I am probably older than you!

Hey @tomreeber,
Thanks for writing in! You're in good hands with danco, but as he mentioned, we do answer all the forum posts as soon as we can, even if it's only to say "hi."
In your case, I'd suggest that you start with danco's suggestions. The desktop is always the best place to begin, as it's simply much easier to change things about your setup there, and the desktop version is more full-featured than the mobile versions of 1Password in the same way that Windows or OS X is more full-featured than iOS or Android.
If you're still having difficulty getting started, then I'd recommend you write us off-line at support@ agilebits .com so we can better assist you personally.
