You might try the suggestion in this AgileBits post.

However, if that doesn't work we really do need to know your 1P version number, including whether you bought it from the Mac App Store or from the AgileBits store. You can find the version details by going to your Applications folder in Finder, finding the 1Password application, highlighting it, right clicking and choosing Get Info.

    Hi @marlol,

I'm sorry you're having trouble opening 1Password! I hope Stephen's suggestion helps to solve the problem, but if not, please let us know. Thanks! :)

    Hi @marlol,

Sorry to hear that didn't work. In that case, please make sure you try the suggestions here: Troubleshooting “1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini”

If the first two suggestions don't solve the problem, you might have more than one copy of 1Password on your Mac. The third suggestion on that page will take you here: How to remove multiple, conflicting copies of 1Password from your system

Please let us know how it all goes! :)

Hi disconnecting my time machine drive worked. I don't want to have to permanently disconnect this drive so what can I do? Thanks!

    Hi @marlol,

Try excluding the 1Password app from the Time Machine backup. Here's Apple's support doc explaining how to do that.

This won't exclude your data from backup, just the app itself, which you can always download again any time you need it from our website. Sound good?
