The price changed because the sale that gave the reduced price you quoted is over. The price you see now is the regular price, so if you want a reduction like that, you'll need to await another sale.
Also, the upgrade price for educational licenses is the same as the upgrade price for the regular version. It isn't discounted further.

@walkerandyd: Indeed, all good things must come to an end, I'm afraid. And after nearly 20 days, the sale is over. I suspect we will have more sales in the future though! ;)
But also be aware that the App Stores, which are owned and operated by Apple, do not offer any kind of educational discount or upgrade pricing. You can, however, get upgrade pricing through the AgileBits Store any day of the year, so you don't necessarily have to wait for a sale. I hope this helps! :)

Thanks guys, but I never saw any indication whatsoever on the App Store that this was a limited time sale. I thought Agile had actually lowered their prices and didn't know they would go back up. I guess I'm just not in the know with Agile.
